"How can a wearable device help users achieve total wellness for both body and mind?"
PRODUCT
In 2014, as wearable devices gained popularity, users primarily used them for self-quantification to identify areas for improvement. However, the mental health market remained underdeveloped due to social stigma. Recognizing this unmet need, I designed a product using feasible technologies to address mental health.
OPPORTUNITY
“Total Fitness”
Physical fitness, including exercise and a healthy diet, is often emphasized as essential for a healthy lifestyle. Similarly, by understanding how different environments affect our emotions during various activities, we can better manage them and optimize both our mental and physical well-being.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
This was my thesis for graduate school at the Art Center College of Design. With the rise of wearable devices, I aimed to define the concept of self-quantification and identify a niche market—mental health. Despite the social stigma surrounding mental health, my goal was to encourage people to achieve total wellness, encompassing both body and mind. I researched various sensor technologies for wearable devices and evaluated their desirability as consumer products. After conducting a feasibility study, I developed a commercial product and built an ecosystem around it, complete with a business plan.
