Redesigning the Car Purchase Experience

In car buying, the real value for customers is confidence and control in decision-making—reducing anxiety, avoiding pressure, and feeling informed before engaging with dealers. The traditional process can be overwhelming, especially for people with limited car knowledge, often creating fear of being overcharged or pushed into a choice. Developed in the early smartphone era as part of a consulting project, CVIEW was designed to reduce that friction and give buyers a more guided, buyer-led path to a decision.

CVIEW used augmented reality to help users visualize how different cars would fit into their lifestyle, making early research more intuitive and engaging. The app also supported practical decision-making by allowing users to collect key information, compare models, and share findings with trusted advisors or family members.

By reducing the need for early dealer involvement, CVIEW shifted the journey from a high-pressure experience to a more informed, user-friendly process—helping buyers feel confident, prepared, and in control before stepping onto the lot.
